There are several protected tropical reserves stretching from Panama City along the Panama Canal. Along the western side of the canal is the Sovereignty National Park, one the city’s largest green areas and a natural habitat of more than 300 winged miracles, mammals, amphibians and insects for a thrill!. It is home to varied fauna (e.g. caimans, crocodiles, iguanas), and outstanding birding trails. It includes the Summit botanical gardens and zoo, home of the harpy eagle and the famous Pipeline Road, popular among birdwatchers.
We will visit Monkey Island by boat where you will have a chance to interact with two spicies of monkeys (i.e. squirrel monkey or moni titi as we know it and the white-faced monkey). We will also be toured around the gamboa lake and may come across some sunbathing crocs.
